I have never been to horseracing meeting before, could anyone recommend a meeting. Also which ones should I avoid.

I would say the best meeting of the year to attended is the York ebor meeting in mid-August. My favourite small track is Hamilton Park. If you want a really great day goto the ARC on the first Sunday in October in Paris.
